There is a wide array of automatic watches with designs inspired by diving watches in the Seiko 5 Sports collection. These include the refs. SRPD51K1, SRPD63K1, and SRPD55K2. The first two models belong to the Seiko 5 Sports family, while the latter is part of the Specialist series. All three watches are similar in terms of technology and design. By this point, I’ve had the chance to become familiar with a number of different styles within the Seiko 5 Sports family. The watch is equipped with Seiko’s proprietary Hardlex crystal. This is not as hard as sapphire crystal, but it has still proven to be very durable and scratch-resistant. The crystal is flat which means it sits well on top of the case, allowing for a flush finish. Indeed, both the bright dial tone and intricate texture make this a very unique watch, even among its peers. You can get a great sense of the dial’s texture in the image below.
